This early 1900's house had lived a hard life and seen many different layouts as boarding house and appts. Now the new owner was going to take the worst house in the neighborhood, and turn it into a mid century modern by adding a second story , completely redo the main floor and finish off the basement. Getting a plan approved from the city for an internal ADU and dealing with hardcover issues and other issues was a challenge requiring 3 variances.
